Collector Car Appreciation Day 2020

Substituting a social distancing event celebrating Collector Car Appreciation Day made sense instead of promoting our original car show. With the rising Covid 19 cases in South Florida it is irresponsible to proceed with a car show where we can not assure that participants and spectators will be safe. How about instead we did a rolling car show?

We met at the public parking lot at 4500 N. A1A in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea at 6:30 PM on Friday July 10th. Cruising south to East Las Olas Blvd. then back north on A1A along the ocean and finally north under the intercoastal bridge in Pompano Beach we returned to our original start. There were plenty of waves and smiles from people along our route when our parade passed.

Upon returning, a presentation was made to our club president, Sherry Wright in the form of a ceremonious copy of the official US House of Representatives resolution (H Res. 998) declaring July 10th “Collector Car Appreciation Day”. Specialty Equipment Market Assn. provided the document and helped us promote our event by providing a link on their website. A recap of all events nationwide in an online gallery can be found on the celebration’s official homepage. http://semasan.com/collector-car-appreciation-day
